2021 Ford F-150
When you want a full-size pickup truck to take on off-road trails, to use as a work truck, or to take the family on vacation, the 2021 Ford F-150 can get the job done. Check out these key features to know why the F-150 remains one of America's most popular pickup trucks.
Trim Levels
Find your ideal F-150 from the seven trim levels: the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, and the rugged off-road-ready Raptor, all of which come in several cab styles and bed lengths. In addition to the gasoline engine trims, Ford has introduced a PowerBoost hybrid available across all the trims. You can use the tailgate and truck bed of the F-250 as a work station with integrated rulers, tool holders, and 120-volt outlets to run power tools.
Engine
With several engine options to choose from, you'll find just the right amount of power to fit your needs. Offering varying horsepower and torque ratings, the engine choices start with a 3.3-liter V-6 followed by a 5.0-liter V-8 and a twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6. Moving up the power scale, you'll find a turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 and a 3.0-liter diesel V-6. If you choose the hybrid version, it comes with the turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine and a 35-kilowatt electric motor. A 10-speed automatic transmission pairs with all of the engine choices.
Performance
The F-150 can easily tow your trailer, boat, or supplies to the job site. When paired with the right engine and the Trailer Tow Package, the F-150 can haul up to 13,000 pounds. Carry up to six passengers, gear, and supplies with the maximum payload capacity of 3,250 pounds. Rear-wheel drive comes standard across the lineup except for the Raptor that has four-wheel drive, which is optional on the other trims.
The front and rear stabilizer bars and front independent suspension help to give the F-150 smooth handling. For rugged off-road adventures, pick the Raptor trim. With a beefier suspension, skid plates, and wider wheels, the Raptor can tackle the toughest of trails.
Interior
From the base XL to the luxurious Limited, you'll enjoy the quality and features inside the F-150s cabin. From cloth seats to premium leather upholstery, basic bench seats to heated, cooled, ventilated bucket seats, each trim gives you what you need. If you want to use the cabin as a workspace, the shift lever folds flat, allowing you to use the center console to lay down blueprints, work on your laptop, look at maps, or fill out work orders.
Ford's Sync 4 infotainment system features an 8-inch or 12-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Upper trims have voice-activated navigation, a head-up display, and an available Bang & Olufsen premium stereo.
Safety Features
All F-150 trims come with Ford's Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assist features that include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure and lane-keep assist, and the available adaptive cruise control. Automatic high-beam headlights, evasive steering assist, and safety towing features help to round out the driver-assist features.
