2022 Ford F-250 SD
Now in its fourth generation, the 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty (SD) is a strong, tough, and impressive truck. The truck received numerous upgrades for the 2020 model year, but the 2022 models feature several updates. Most trucks in its class aren't considered technological masterpieces, but the F-250 SD has many tech features that you'll find on sedans. Use this guide to learn why this vehicle continues to be a favorite among so many work truck owners.
Trim Levels
The 2022 Ford F-250 SD comes in six trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. The truck also has three cab choices: Regular, Super, and Crew. The Regular cab seats up to three people, while the other two have room enough for six travelers.
New for the 2022 model year is the addition of the Lariat Sport Appearance package, which includes a chrome exhaust tip, black running boards, and a body-color finish for much of the exterior. You can also opt for the Lariat Black Appearance package, which is newly available on the XLT trims. This package features 20-inch black-painted wheels, body-color bumpers and grille, and 6-inch black running boards.

Performance
For an enhanced driving experience, utilize the Adaptive Steering feature, which is standard on the Limited trim and optional on the lower ones. This feature helps you maneuver better at lower speeds. When properly equipped with the turbodiesel engine and a gooseneck adapter, the truck can tow a maximum of 37,000 pounds.
Interior
Whereas the previous Ford F-250 SD topped out with an 8.0-inch touch-screen display, the 2022 models now have a massive 12.0-inch system found on the Lariat trims and above. This landscape-oriented screen has split-screen functionality, and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It comes mated to the SYNC 4 infotainment system, which is an upgrade from the SYNC 3 interface found on the 2021 models.
Safety Features
With a work truck, you obviously want one that keeps you and everyone around you safe. The F-250 SD is packed with almost any type of safety feature you want, depending on the trim. On the XLT trims and above, you'll find automatic emergency braking, while the Lariat and above include lane departure warning. Both of these features are available on the base trim. Other available features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and a 360-degree camera system.
